Chapter One ~ The starting of a fluffy adventure

I first found out about cloth diapering when I was pregnant with my daughter. Like many other mothers or dad's (guardians too!), I was sooo confused!!!

"AIO AI2 POCKETS INSERTS PREFOLDS SNAPPI BOINGO WETBAG, WHAT ARE THEY TALKING ABOUT?"

I did hour upon hours, and days upon days of research. They I came to the ultimate conclusion....... why haven't I been cloth diapering from the beginning!!!

I wasn't able to cloth my son :/ thought it would be unfair to cd my daughter, but not him.
Then...... I quickly got over it. I figured it's better late then never.

I began to choose my method of cloth diapering and how I was going to come by these magical poop holders. I went over my budget and realized I didn't really have a budget to go off of. All the pretty and "convenient" diapers were soooo expensive!!! How was I gonna dish out that starting off cost? Yeah daddy worked, but it was barely enough to take care of the family to begin with. I was struck with devastation at the thought that I couldn't cd. I kept looking around for cheap diaper that I might be able to scrape up the money for. But those cheap dipes were.....well CHEAP! I didn't want to put cheap material on my daughters bum. I chose to cd for the health benefits.

Sooo I kept researching and found out about "your grandmas cloth diapers" a.k.a. flats and covers. I was ecstatic at the affordability and feasibility of these option. I thought " I CAN get those cute patterns and colors on my babies bum, and save that needed money". All I needed was a few covers, a good amount of flat diapers, and a fastener. I found some affordable covers (cover in the pic are flutter and raspberry I believer) at nickisdiapers.com. So I bought two one size covers by Imagine. Then I bought 6 unbleached flats and one snappi from gmd. I was finally set to begin my adventure in cloth diapering.

I didn't have enough flats to get me through even one day. So as a young jobless mother I had to improvise. I didn't have much options, so I adapted to what I did have. In the end I have found out that you can use everyday cloth to diaper a baby or toddler. ( I will explain how later in another post)

My cloth diaper adventure has just begun. So many fluff yet to explore! Nevertheless this is one of the best adventures I have set out on. well besides motherhood. Hope you continue to join me in my adventures and can benefit from my discoveries whether they be old or new.

alas maties see you on the nautical adventure of cloth diapering. stay fluffy mates! :3
